V-belt replacement:
A flat belt drive can be inherently more efficient than a V belt drive, particularly a multiple-V-belt drive. V-belts have a deeper cross sectional area than a flat belt, consuming more energy every time the belt flexes. Energy is consumed as the belt is forced in and out of the grooves on a V-belt pulley. By contrast flat belts offer:
- Higher efficiency, therefore energy savings
- Longer life of belts and pulleys
- Cleaner operation (the result of less abrasion)
- Longer service life means less down time and higher productivity
- Constant tension, no re-tension required, maintenance-free
- Smoother operation, lower noise generation
